Bio
In 2009, Loyda Alvarado joined NDLON’s organizing and education campaign in the Inland Empire Valley where her main focus was organizing day laborers and the community to fight against police-ICE collaboration. Since then she has transitioned into the National Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator position. She works directly with several partner organizations throughout the US to provide leadership, training, technical assistance and assure the usefulness of appropriate worker health and safety trainings. Previously, Ms. Alvarado served as a lead organizer in charge of three day laborer centers operated by the Institute for Popular Education of Southern California (IDEPSCA). Loyda graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a Bachelor Arts Degree in Television, Film and Media Services with an option in Journalism.
